Okay, so we’ve never seen a Transformers movie (don’t come at us, because the trailers give us migraines) and have no idea who two-thirds of these people are, but it’s June and that means everyone who steps on a red carpet gets a spotlight thrown on them. Now is the time for all ambitious and hungry non-A celebs to get out there and give it all they’ve got. Maximize your time by always putting on a show, celebs.

Not that any of them asked us for career advice. Then again, they didn’t ask us for the style advice we’re about to give either. If nothing else, you’ve gotta give ol’ T Lo some credit for living up to the second half of our tagline pretty consistently over the years.

Girl, we don’t know you, but we are impressed with your on-pointedness. In truth, we would never love something like this as much if the star of the film were wearing it. Anything too referential to the film skirts right up to the line of being cosplay when the main stars do it. We’d’ have loved to have seen Lynda Carter in a WW shirt at the Wonder Woman premiere, but we’d have wrinkled our noses a bit if Gal Gadot had done it.

But she’s young and the only burden she’s shouldering on this red carpet is the burden of promoting herself. Something a little costume-y  – especially if it’s coming off a runway from a designer whose work suits her perfectly – is just fine in her case.

Josh Duhamel in The Kooples

We might never have predicted that he’d be the type to Clooney it up as he headed into middle age. By that we mean he’s doing practically nothing to hide or fight his encroaching middle age and is settling into DadStyle early. This approach has worked okay for Clooney, in the sense that he’s avoided some of the embarrassing image/style problems of cohorts Pitt, Depp, Downey, Jr. and even Cruise. But it also means he’s been stepping out in dull suits for two decades now. Right now, Josh is working more of a Hot Dad -style. The suit’s a little light and more than a little tight. He’s not ready to settle into the navy blue suit style desert yet.

Still, that jacket is absurdly small. Also, here’s a Pro Tip, Josh: Belt loops are for belts, which help prevent your pants from sliding off your hips and puddling around your ankles. Please make a note of it.

Laura Haddock in Giambattista Valli Couture

BAM. This lady’s not fooling around.

We tend to think this sort of look is a bit grandiose for this sort of film. Again, to cite a recent example, we wouldn’t have wanted Gal Gadot coming out in a some big Oscars gown for her premieres. But as with Isabel above, she’s taking the opportunity of an international blockbuster film red carpet and, well, making it all about her. We can’t attagirl the move enough.

The gown is pretty, but the colorlessness doesn’t suit her and the top is too tight in the bust.
