Tony Awards 2017: Jason Sudeikis and Olivia Wilde Make a Good First Impression

Posted on June 12, 2017

The Sudeikis-Wildes tend to take a dramatic shot when they both have their style game on. But don’t be fooled by the initial high impact…

… ‘cuz there are some issues in evidence.

It’s hard to tell with the way he’s posing, but the fit on his jacket seems way off. We’d swear the button is position far too low. Plus it looks tight across the chest – as does the shirt, for that matter. It’s possible it’s all pulling so much because he’s got his arm around her, but it seems to us that it’s all pulling just a bit too much.

As for her, we love the idea of this gown but the details aren’t so hot. First, we really don’t like the shape of the sleeves. And while a gown in this style works with the kind of plunging neckline we tend to bitch about, the way it just stops above a gathering of fabric right at the waist doesn’t make for a flattering set of proportions. Despite everything, it comes off a little shapeless on her. And to top it off, we don’t think this is quite “her” shade of red. The head-styling looks great, and she definitely has the chops to work a classic retro soignée, but this look just didn’t come together for her.
