CFDA Awards 2017: Olivia Munn Sticks to the Apparent Theme This Year in Tanya Taylor

Posted on June 06, 2017

We don’t get it.

Did everyone just collectively decide not to give a shit this year? This is the dowdiest CFDA red carpet we’ve ever seen. We kinda batted around the idea that maybe the celeb and fashion worlds wanted to dial down the ostentation this year due to world events or the political atmosphere. And maybe that’s true. But it sure doesn’t explain why so many of the dresses are so ugly. Low-key, we get. Purposefully frumpy? Somebody explain it to us.

Are we being harsh here? Because from where we’re sitting, we’re looking at two kinda cheap-looking fabrics used to make a Frankendress with too many ruffles and cutouts. Plus yoga hair and Payless shoes. Nothing about this says “the world of high fashion.”
