Behold, citizens. Behold the one person on whom Gucci’s overdone and overexposed “forced whimsy” aesthetic looks … not as horrible as it looks on other people.
Sorry. We started off thinking we were going to pay Miss Yara a grand compliment, but let’s be real here:
Even she’s having trouble making this one work. She’s got the youth and the fashion chops to take this much further than most other wearers, but it’s all overwhelming her. It didn’t have to be this way. Either the top or the skirt would’ve made a great starting point for an eye-catching red carpet look, but insisting on keeping them paired was a mistake. Worse, both the shoes and the hair are as focus-pulling as the garments, which means practically every element of this look is so strong that it didn’t need any of the other elements. It’s too much. Even for her. She got Gucci’d.
