Miss Taraji came to slay, we have no doubt. We’re just not convinced she succeeded.
Our first response was that this was too heavy for spring and felt more like something you’d see around January or so. The skirt especially seems too full and long for this time of year – especially covered in sequins. Add a turtleneck and T Lo is just plain confused.
Then we saw that the fine folks at Pucci helpfully provided ventilation by cutting out the sides of it. This was not information that caused us to rethink things. It just made a questionable dress decidedly less so, in our eyes. The matchy shoes don’t help, nor does the lip color, which seems way off to us.
Yes, it’s high-impact and yes, the hair is crushing it, but as much as we want to and as hard as we try to, we can’t seem to love this look. Are we wrong? We’re asking.
