Jaime King Demonstrates Celebrity Charity Chic at the Kaleidoscope 5 Gala

Posted on May 09, 2017

Jaime King attends UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital’s Kaleidoscope 5 Gala in Culver City, California.

We can always count on Miss Jaime to serve up something worth looking at on any red carpet she finds herself on. And she finds herself on a lot, bless her. Today, she’s come up with a style archetype we never, ever could have come up with ourselves, and for that, she has our utmost respect.

She’s “It’s For a Good Cause Barbie.” Aggressively matched retro-tinged hyper-femininity; perfect for pictures, awareness-raising, and of course, fundraising. Would we have recommended black lace shoes or super focus-pulling red earrings to go with that dress? No. But we are not IFAGC Barbie, who is above such considerations.

Bitchiness aside, it’s a fun, photogenic look. Over-matchy? Yes. But her job is to show up looking photo-ready in order to get press for this event and she nailed it. It’s not a look that stands up to too much scrutiny (we dislike the design of the dress the longer we look at it), but it’s perfectly high-impact without being obnoxious about it. Works for us.
