Eva Green in Alexander McQueen at the Cannes Film Festival 2017

We love Miss Eva. And we love the idea of Miss Eve in McQueen at Cannes. But we’re trying hard to work up even a “like” for this one:

It’s … okay? We guess?

It’s not that we can point to anything and say “This is the part where it goes bad.” It’s just that … for all the things going on in this dress, there doesn’t feel like much of a payoff, does there? All the sheer bits and metallic bits and dangly bits; all the swoops and angles and textures – and for what? From ten feet away, it starts losing impact. A little bit further out and it just looks generic, which is not a word one should ever use in Miss Eva’s presence.

Like we said, we don’t hate it. It’s not a bad look by any means. It just doesn’t live up to its promise (Eva + McQueen), as far as we’re concerned. But because we’re so kind-hearted and magnanimous, we have deigned to allow you the final word here. Let your voice be heard, darlings:

Eva Green and Her Generic McQueen:

IN or OUT?

Perhaps the voices of those who are not jaded bitches such as we need to take the floor on this one.
