Debra Messing Gets her ABBA on at the GLAAD Media Awards

Posted on May 08, 2017

Okay, Miss Lady gave a hell of a speech at this thing and we’ve been Siriano supporters since before there even was such a thing, so we’re feeling all kinds of gentle, loving, and open-minded about what she’s wearing.

Wait. Nope.

No we’re not. At ALL.

Oof. Honey, what’s all this? What’s happening here?

The color, the style, the shape, the textile – not one of these things are working in Miss Debra’s favor. All the credit in the world goes to her for wanting to get a little bit of Agnetha/Frida action going on for an event as gay as this one, but girl, ABBA drag just isn’t your style.

But she looks happy and pleased with herself, so our words of judgment amount to little. In other news…

In truth, we were not people who were clamoring for this, but if it must happen, please don’t be a letdown. Will & Grace made history. Don’t tarnish that with a money-grab followup, please. Keep it funny.

We interviewed Megan Mullaly years ago for Metrosource magazine, and she seemed to think it was only a matter of time before something like this happened. At the time, she was floating the idea of a Karen Walker stage show, but this is probably a better way to go.
