Darlings, we’re not done with our Cannes coverage yet! In a rush to hit the bar last Friday, we made it sound like Cannes had come to a close, when in fact, it kept right on Cannesing through the weekend, which is good, because this time of year can be something of a red carpet desert once all the summer sausagefest blockbusters start to open.
Until then, here is Miss Bingbing, being perfect.

We’re going to be honest here: We don’t exactly love this textile, nor does the design of the dress feel particularly fresh to us. And yet, Miss Bingbing is making it work somehow. Partially it’s poise, partially it’s some well-chosen jewelry and a hairstyle perfectly suited both to her and the dress, but mainly it’s the result of a fashionista who knows exactly what works best on her and what she’s capable of making work. We’d never recommend a style like this to anyone but the most advanced dress-wearer. It would look moldy on anyone else.

Then there’s the other side of Miss Bingbing; the side that can work old-school movie star sexy-glam and make it look effortless. More importantly, she can make sexy-glam look chic. This is a typically overdesigned Versace in a lot of ways, but the color looks amazing on her and the simple choices of her styling help to keep it from overwhelming her. Miss Lady always knows what she’s doing on the style front. Trust.
