“The Handmaid’s Tale” Tribeca Premiere Red Carpet Rundown

Posted on April 25, 2017

We checked in on Miss Lizzie’s red carpetry yesterday, but we feel behooved to shine a spotlight on some of the other cast members of The Handmaid’s Tale” because they’re stepping up their respective RC games as well. And they each have such distinctive styles we’d almost think the whole thing was coordinated.

Alexis Bledel in J. Mendel

This is just okay. It’s not a bad dress by any means, but we’ve seen its like a hundred times on the red carpet. And this particular lace frock is kind of dark and heavy-looking for this time of year. Still, it suits her and the color looks great on her.

Samira Wiley

LOVE this. Serving up some Joan Crawford metallic pajamas realness. Clearly the print is doing all the work here, since the design is as basic as a pair of hospital scrubs, but it’s more than up to the task. She looks great in these colors and the less fussy her style choices are, they better off she tends to be.

Yvonne Strahovski in Sally LaPointe

This is all a huge NO, we’re sorry to say. A strapless leopard print crop top should’ve set off a series of red flags and foghorn alarms the minute it was presented to you as an option, dear. Add those weirdass hip panels, which are like some sort of minimalist take on chaps, and we’re getting a highly unfortunate Coyote Ugly kind of vibe here. Let’s scrub all this and start fresh, Miss Yvonne.
