Christina Hendricks in Roksanda at the “Into the Woods” Opening Night

Recent episodes of Feud: Bette and Joan have impressed upon us the importance of making sure one gets the occasion to wear a caftan and gold sandals as much as possible in one’s life. It’s the Crawford way, and Miss Christina is a fan.

Technically, this isn’t a caftan because the waist is too fitted, but Christina has long espoused her love of wearing them and we’re glad she got a chance to come close to her favorite look on the red carpet. We think this is cute and fun. Tonight’s not about her. She just needs to show up and take a couple decent pictures for herself. This look has a few issues, but we can’t fault her for taking the risks.

The bib is the main problem, That print is of the love-it-or-hate-it variety (we think it’s perfect for her). It doesn’t need incongruous black accents to contend with. Navy blue would have been much better and would have integrated well with the print. The length really could’ve used another inch. As for the sandals? We love the idea in a Joan Crawford sort of way, but this pair might be a bit much paired with such a busy dress. Basically, we love the idea of this outfit for her but only like most of the details.

Hair and face look great.
