Zosia Mamet Buttons Up for the Whitney Biennial

Posted on March 17, 2017

We have so many thoughts, some conflicting with each other, swirling about as we look at these shots. That might strike you as odd, for which we wouldn’t blame you, because they really don’t look like they’d inspire much thought at all.

But you know us, nitpickers at an Olympian level. So let’s get right to it.

First, it’s a little tricky around the shoulders, but we think we really love this dress.

Second, we say “think” because Miss Zosia appears to be not really have the goods in terms of knowing how to work and show off this dress to its best advantage.

Third, this is probably one of the best single garments we’ve ever seen her wear in public and it represents an apparent new-found commitment to making red carpetry really work for her.

Fourth, we’re kinda bummed someone on the Cate/Janelle/Tilda level didn’t get ahold of this one first.

Fifth, but attagirl, Miss Zosia, for snagging it and giving it a go.

Sixth, Monse designs can go either way (chic to cray), but this is one of our favorites in some time.

Seventh, this may very well be the first instance in recorded memory of “Dress, That’s Not Your Girl.”

There. Now you know everything we think about this dress on Zosia, and you have many discussion points to mull over and argue. We think we deserve a donut right now. brb
