Sarah Jessica Parker and Molly Shannon are spotted filming scenes for season 2 of the HBO series “Divorce” in Tarrytown, New York.

We watched the first few episodes of Divorce. We found it well-acted by a very good cast, working through scripts that were biting and occasionally insightful. But we also felt it was more than a bit harsh, that it wasn’t as creative as it presented itself to be, and that the only appeal we could see was watching talented and recognizable comic/character actors go over some very well-trod ground. The problems of affluent middle-aged white people going through divorce and relationship problems is not exactly a fresh take in the world of television. This is not to be taken as a review, because we didn’t stick with it long enough to do anything but form a few initial impressions. That’s your cue to come in and tell us what you thought of the season, if you followed the whole thing. We didn’t hate it. We just thought it was … basic and bitter, which we realize sounds a little harsh.

Anyway, we still think they dress SJP’s character like “depressed Carrie Bradshaw,” but maybe we’re not trying hard enough to see the difference. It’s funny to see Molly as the one with the more interesting outfit and more fabulous shoes.
