Oscars 2017: Lily Collins is All About the Face at the Vanity Fair Party

Posted on March 01, 2017

GodDAMN, does this gal know how to look like a movie star or what?

This is just primo ladydrag. Buffed, lacquered and painted to perfection. It’s not a look for many women and it’s not even a look most women can pull off, but Miss Lily and her team long ago figured out her talent for working a highly made-up look is one of the strongest tools in her style arsenal.

She’s like Kristen Stewart that way, except K Stew’s makeup goes in a more rocker-chick direction while Lily works screen goddess realness whenever she can.

Seriously, she’s serving face on a silver platter. We’re trying to think of anyone who had better, more dramatic makeup than this on Oscar night and we’re coming up blank.

Honestly, the dress is just okay. Inoffensive, but one in a long assembly line of sheer, black beaded gowns with feather details. It’s highly probable that we’ve just hit the wall after days of surveying gown after gown. We appreciate the gold elements and the belt, but other than that, this look is all happening north of her shoulders – and she knows it. Why else did she go relatively subtle (for Oscar night) with the jewelry? Because otherwise, it’d be fighting with her face. Clever.
