Oscars 2017: Heidi Klum hits the After-Parties in Alberta Ferretti

Posted on March 01, 2017

Miss Heidi never heard of an awards season red carpet she didn’t plan on walking. And the results are almost always memorable in some way. Not necessarily for being stylish, but for being high-impact at best, hopelessly tacky at worst. Always a show with this one.

But honestly, these two entries aren’t exactly hall-of-famers.

First, totally bitchtastic thought: “Wait. Was there a “Make Heidi’s Oscar gown” challenge last season on Project Runway?” Because honestly, it doesn’t look very high end. It’s off-the-rack standard with what looks like a badly pinned neckline. What a shock that it’s Alberta “Chip in a chip way” Ferretti. She’s posing to beat the band and making it look a lot slinkier than it actually is, but it just looks like a big red nightgown with some stuff hanging off the back.

This is fine, actually. We were a bit surprised to find it was from a recent collection. We could have sworn it was vintage, which in this case is being used as a euphemism for “dated.” It feels very… we don’t know, 2010 or so. It’s nice enough, but we feel like we’ve seen this one a lot before. Then again, this was on a night in which black lace dresses re-established their grip on the celebrity world and red sheer prairie gowns suddenly became the hottest look of the week. Go figure.

It’s fine. The earrings are great. We’re gown-punchy.
