Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia Keep Things Weird at the ‘This Is Us’ Finale Screening

Posted on March 15, 2017

Okay, so first we’re gonna show you some This is Us people. Then we’re gonna say a few things about This is Us. Then we’ll probably wrap up by saying something about how awful they look.

We good? That’s the agenda for this meeting. Feel free to have a donut while we speed through the items.

First, the This is Us people we promised you:

Now, the thoughts on This is Us. We watched a few early on. It’s not our thing even remotely, but we could instantly grasp why it became a hit. It didn’t push our buttons, but even we could see the quality on display and the appeal of its high concept. But it’s hard, in our pop culture and reviewing-heavy line of work, to avoid hearing all about the shows you don’t watch, constantly. Sometimes every day, as was the case for a little while with this one. One thing we couldn’t help noticing was how gleefully psychotic all the marketing and poledancing sounded from afar. All anyone involved in the show can talk about is how much the next episode is going to make you all cry. It’s starting to sound a little abusive, if you ask us.

In other news, she’s wearing a really weird dress, as is her wont. We can’t even recall ever seeing her in a dress that wasn’t a little weird. That’s admirable in its own way, but this one, like most of them, sure isn’t all the stylish, chic or even pretty. It’s just another of those “You caught me in the middle of getting undressed” designs, except without all the implied sexiness because she’s apparently wearing SCUBA gear under this one. Then again, maybe that does something for you. We don’t know your life.

He, for his part, is wearing a black-t-shirt, black jeans and black boots with a brown belt AND a dinner jacket. This is rage-inducing for reasons we assume are clear to all of you.
