Dan, we feel like you’re crying out for help right now.
Perhaps you don’t feel that way, Dan, but to our eyes, your distress is clear and unmistakeable. You keep trying, and for that we are grateful and give you a lot of credit. You don’t have a tendency to half-ass things on the style front or to make perfunctory choices. We can tell you want things thought out and put together in a pleasing way. AttaDan. Can’t applaud that enough.
But mister, you do tend to flub the details on the regular. First, there’s the beard. Now, if there’s one thing we’ve learned in our centuries of red carpet blogging, it’s that every single time you critique a man’s grooming, someone will tell you it’s for a role. Even if that’s the case, we would ask Dan to please make a note of the fact that he can’t work one and shouldn’t attempt to in his day to day life going forward. Second, while the suit is an admirable choice for being such a bold color, the fit is slightly off. The sleeves are a bit short and the jacket a bit long. Still, it’s a nice suit and a great pair of shoes. Where he really loses us is the shirt choice. No, Dan. Get yourself a standard dress shirt and tie. Maybe that’s boring, but we honestly don’t think you have the looks to venture too far away from that when dressing semi-formally.
In other words, it’s a great look, but a tie or even an unbuttoned collared dress shirt would’ve really pulled it together.
