There was a disappointing lack of color on the Oscars red carpet this year. We’d hoped the trend for black dresses would pass the big night by, but several ladies gave it a go. We liked Brie’s, disliked Alicia’s, and absolutely love Miss Kirsten’s here. It’s not only the best black gown of the night, it’s one of our favorites overall.
There are two ways to make a black dress interesting. First, you can go the embellishment route and give it some sparkle and beading to feel more dynamic and full of motion. Second, you make it all about the silhouette. Kiki chose the latter.
And the results are gorgeous and chic. Major curves topped off by a stunning yet still delicate diamond necklace.
We’re not a hundred percent on the hair, though.
But the shoes are fun in an oooh-la-la, super-Frenchy kind of way.
Just a great look overall. Chic, elegant, and sexy with a French vibe.
