Sit down. We’ve got some work to do here.
Given how bad her red carpetry has been lately – and how that badness always comes with a Louis Vuitton label attached to it – we were pre-cringing when we clicked on these shots to get a better look.
And in certain respects, we were right to pre-cringe, but all things considered, this one actually works for us.
Put it this way: There’s more in the Pro column than the Con.
The color and shine are terrible. The shoulder treatment is a little goofy and we’d have much preferred seeing this with two conventional sleeves (which is something we seem to be saying a lot lately). The sandals should be black pumps.
But the shape is nice and the style is cute and really suits her. If the most we have to say is “We don’t like the color, it needs sleeves and she should be wearing pumps,” then we’re sorry to have to put it this way, but that’s the least complaining we’ve done about a Michelle Williams look in months. Call this one a win.
Gosh, we are such masters at the backhanded compliment, don’t you find? Pardon us while we preen a little.
