Maggie Gyllenhaal Brings the Right Kind of Weird, in Schiaparelli Couture, to the 2017 Berlin Film Festival

Posted on February 20, 2017

Behold the dress that only Maggie Gyllenhaal could pull off:

Because we’re pretty sure we’d hate this on anyone else but we find ourselves getting all goo-goo-eyed the longer we look at this wacky dress on her.

Somehow, it manages to evoke the soignée styles of the ’30s and the ’70s that suit her the most, without being remotely literal about the references. It’s got both Art Nouveau and Boho references that really blend well on a wearer who can pull both off with ease, and she happens to be one of that rare breed.

We’re not really feeling the hair or makeup here, but it almost doesn’t matter, because we’re kind of hypnotized by that totally off-the-beaten-red-carpet-path dress.
