Emma Stone’s Ensemble for the Vanity Fair and Barney’s Private Dinner Came with a Surprise

Posted on February 23, 2017

Oh, Emma. You almost had us with this one.

Wait for it…

BAM.

THAT’S the answer to the “What is T Lo bitching about now?” question that was probably forming in your head. Big, honking drag tassles ruining a perfectly acceptable ensemble. THAT’S what T Lo’s bitching about now.

If there’s a defense of those ridiculosities, we’d sure love to hear it. To our eyes, that whole sash is the very definition of “incongruous.”

We’re not sure if an outfit for which this thing would be well-suited even exists, but it definitely doesn’t belong on that skirt, with that top.

The makeup’s pretty great. We’ll give her that.

But we canNOT with that sash. We almost feel like we can’t even assess the rest of it because it’s so distracting. In all honesty, we’re not convinced by that print, which comes off a little curtain-y. And if scroll back up to her face, you can see the unfinished edges of her armholes, which we suppose we’re to take as a design choice but it really only looks like an unfinished garment. Basically, this whole thing is just weird. Let’s hope this isn’t a preview of her Oscar’s dress. We’re more inclined to take it as an example of her running out of good stuff because she saved it up for the final weekend, though.
