Tracee Ellis Ross Ditches the Boho Style for the Golden Globe Awards

Posted on January 09, 2017

It’s virtually impossible for us to critique Miss Tracee’s look, because …

She’s so damn ridiculously charming, especially after that speech.

In an insular little celebrity-filled world that highly values the pretense of humility even as it places the utmost importance on attention-seeking and awards, you’ve gotta love a gal…

Who loves winning as much as this one does. We salute you, Miss Tracee.

But we’ve still got a few things to say about your choices. Let’s take a scroll.

Those damn half-sheer skirts are killing us. We hated Sarah Paulson’s and we don’t like this one much better. Especially since the hem length is so awkward. But we like it overall for being glamorous, sparkly and sexy in a way that didn’t feel overdone or generic. We’d have rec’d some changes (LINING), but we can’t fault the choice too much. We don’t much love the hand jewelry, though. There is such a thing as too much, Miss T.

And while her head styling tends to work with her more Boho choices, we’re not sure this is quite up to the dress. We wonder if she avoids dramatic makeup because her mother is basically the queen-empress of dramatic makeup.
