Well looky here.

Look who got herself all polished up and buff-shined to perfection.

Maybe that’s not fair but it was clear back in her Divergent poledance days that she thought the red carpet was not worth much of her time or effort. At least that’s how we read it. We will always try to respect a lack of interest in fashion but Shailene, at the time, seemed unwilling to let people who were interested in it (and make their living off it) guide her toward some smart marketing and PR-based style choices. When she managed to get dressed up, it almost always felt perfunctory and last-minute; like something she couldn’t wait to take off. And while we would never claim that she loves spending the night in that much slap and hairspray (we doubt it very, very much), we really appreciate this look for being professional and well-styled. We hope she doesn’t think she has to put on a ton of makeup or glam things up every time she promotes a project but we’d like to think she’s starting to understand it’s a good tool to have in the arsenal.

Also, this outfit is chic as hell. Love the coat.
