Darlings, we sat down with our cups this morning and had ourselves a good long chat about what’s going on in our TV-viewing. First, we tackle HBO’s The Young Pope, starring Jude Law and Diane Keaton. We did an initial review but now that we’ve screened a few more episodes, we find we have much more to say on the topic – and why we think we’re on board for the rest of the ride, weird as it is.
Then we talk about NBC’s slightly off take on the Wizard of Oz books, Emerald City, which they’ve taken in a very Game of Thrones-lite direction, which doesn’t quite work as well as you’d think.
Two words: Sexy Scarecrow.
Then, we go to town on our Sunday-night tweeting target, PBS’s Victoria, which is a light, frothy, Taylor Swift-style take on the legendary Queen in her young, lust-filled years.
After that, Lorenzo offers a capsule recap of Showtime’s “The Affair,” parts of which can be summed up as “Noah is such an asshole” and “Why am I still watching this?” Following him, Tom gives his own capsule recap of the Sherlock season 4 (and possibly series) finale, parts of which can be summed up as “My expectations were in the basement” and “Who is the… why are they… what possible reason would …??”
And FINALLY, having had enough of TeeVee Tawk, we turn to the world of cinema and review the Dev Patel and Nicole Kidman-starring critical darling Lion, which reminded us of what a good actress Miss Nicole can be.
Just us, kittens. Spewing in all directions as per the uzh. If you’re inclined to listen, we can’t thank you enough.
