Giiiiiirrrrlllll….
What even IS this?
We’ll tell you what it is: it’s a goddamn Louis Vuitton hostage situation is what it is. And when we think about how she owned the red carpet less than a decade ago, it saddens us. Sweetie, this is not the way.
Individually, the pieces are less offensive, although we’re not inclined to love scalloped hems or peplums on crop tops. Still, we think the latter could work with a pair of high-waisted skinny pants and the former could work with a cute cardigan. We are not loving the trend lately (Naomie Harris did it the other day) of pairing mismatched whites or very pale rose-whites with plain white. Having seen it now on a pale white woman and a woman of color in the same week, we’re prepared to say that it’s an extremely difficult combination to pull off for just about anyone.
To be fair, we think the head styling is pretty great. It doesn’t go well with such a washed-out ensemble, but it’s dramatic and a little androgynous, which works well for her.
She has GOT to stop going out with that clutch. Retire that thing, girl. LV makes other kinds of bags, y’know.
