We had to recalibrate our Mandy Moore settings for this one. Shut up. That’s not weird. You’re weird.
Anyway, our point: We never expected her to step out looking so…
… well, that.
That is a whole lot of look for Mandy Moore, is what we’re saying.
We’d never have predicted she’d try to rock a pseudo-Kahlo head style…
And we sure as hell would never have predicted she’d wear a dress with so much … stuff on it.
We’re being nice when we say “stuff,” you see.
And then there’s the shoe choice, which is totally baffling to us, to be honest.
But even if this is all too much look for any one lady to handle, even if we have to admit that heavy-ass Frankendress is probably purely an FMO, we can’t help but respect her just a little for the attempt here. Her red carpet style tends to be fairly safe, as far as we can recall. She’s got more eyes on her this year than she has in the last five years combined, which is what happens when you find yourself in the extremely rare position of starring on a hit network TV show. She’s attending a fashion event in honor of herself and her peers. Even if the results here aren’t entirely to our liking, we respect her and/or her team for knowing when to make a more pronounced effort.
