We’re just not getting Greta Gerwig’s style choices for the National Board of Review Gala

Posted on January 05, 2017

Darlings, close your eyes and imagine one of the world’s great design houses has offered to lend you a velvet gown – Oh, and then open your eyes again after you’ve imagined that. There’s no point in us writing further if you’re still sitting there with your eyes closed, lost in couture fantasies.

Anyway, after you open your eyes, ask yourself this:

Is THAT the color you’d want to wear?

This is a bit too heavy overall, but we think it could have been dramatically beautiful – in practically any other color but this horrid orange-brown, which is doing not one good thing for her own coloring. We don’t get it. Sure, different tastes and all, but “I want BROWN VELVET for my red carpet appearance” almost sound counter-intuitive to us.

Also, the hair’s not really helping.
