Amy Adams is Honored with a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Dresses Just Right For It

Congratulations, Amy darling. We’ve been right bitches to you all through awards season so we’re going to ease up on the throttle and be nice this time.

Besides, when it comes to commenting on these types of events, it’s hard to maintain total bitchiness. You don’t want to feel you’re pooping all over someone’s special day, do you?

So here’s us being nice:

This is a great look for her.

No, really. In fact, we’d go so far as to say she should be applying some of the above to her more formal red carpetry.

That may seem like an odd thing for us to say, considering her red carpet style tends to be so dull and the above isn’t exactly cutting-edge chic. But whenever she tries an edgy dress, she almost certainly gets the styling wrong. She’s like a Viola Davis. She needs to keep things as simple as possible for herself.

The trick is in making good choices and styling them well and unfussily. It’s a basic LBD, but the shoes and brooch (pleasant surprise, since almost no one wears them on the RC) are just enough of a touch to make it look chic and stylish.

If she must constrict herself to strapless Tom Ford sheaths (which, to be fair, work for her), then we wish she’d style them with the same kind of smart, light touch shown here.

And also, freshen the hair style just a tad.
