We haven’t had such an apt candidate for an IN-or-OUT vote in ages. We are truly torn on the merits of this one and can’t come to a conclusion either way.
On the one hand, this is uniquely pretty for a red carpet choice. The colors are unexpected and the lace is being used in a manner different from 99% of the lace red carpet dresses we’ve seen this year. It fits her boho vibe.
On the other hand, it feels way too summertime. The shape of the skirt isn’t so great and the overall vibe doesn’t read “night” at all. Which is a problem, because she loaded herself up with nightime accessories, from the strangely glittery shoes to the proliferation of jewelry exploding on her hands and ears. Literally every accessory belongs with a different dress. They’d all look fabulously on point paired with a basic LBD, which makes their pairing here all the more odd. You can do Boho Chic on the red carpet, but we don’t think this is the way to do it at all.
But we keep going back to how unique it is and how much it suits her. You’re gonna have to make the call, darlings.
