Ruth Negga is Pretty in Pink at the InStyle Golden Globe Awards Celebration

“Loving” actress Ruth Negga attends the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and InStyle 2017 Golden Globe Awards Season Celebration at Catch LA in West Hollywood, California.

This is such a striking look and she’s so the gal for that sort of thing, but we’re having a bit of trouble with it. She looks amazing in these colors and the pale pink print is very pretty, but that velvet bib is just awful. It’s weirdly blocked and too vividly colored to do anything but draw the eye away from the rest of the dress. It’s impossible to have your eye rest anywhere but smack on her chest. It’s a shame, because that panel might have worked if it was just a little smaller or a little less brilliant in hue.

Still, she’s working it better than almost anyone else could. Can’t take that away from her.
