It’s such a cliche to say this, but…

Pregnancy agrees with her. Not so much in the “glowing” sense, although she does tend to look pretty great when she’s babybaking. No, it’s her style that suddenly seems to improve. This isn’t the most chic or eye-catching maternity gown we’ve ever seen, but she looks good in it and it just seems right for the venue somehow. And it feels somewhat uniquely her in a lot of ways. You can’t say that about a lot of her style choices when she’s not pregnant, which tend to come off a bit perfunctory to us, Dior contract or not. Something about being pregnant taps into her need to express herself through her style. The result is Earth Mother Chic with a particularly Portman feel to it.
