Great. Now we’re gonna look like assholes. Thanks a lot, Lizzy.

This is sweet and cute and chic in an understated way. We question whether the shoes should be suede or that color in order to work with the rest of the outfit. The same shape in red or blue leather would’ve been our rec, but that’s the only quibble we have about a specific choice. Our real issue is a bit broader than nitpickery – and why we hate having to say it sometimes. Here goes: This is pretty and low-key chic. But it’s dull. It would probably be lovely at your average party or wedding or New Year’s Eve gala, but on a red carpet, it just doesn’t do much. And it becomes doubly disappointing because Miss Lizzy is usually a bit more adventurous in her red carpet choices. In other words, this is pretty but boring.

And now we sound like assholes. Fashion makes us all so brutal, darlings.
