Lily Collins attends the 2nd Annual StyleMaker Awards hosted by Variety and WWD at Quixote Studios West Hollywood n West Hollywood, California.
Darlings, it’s time for our Daily Lily Collins post. Girlfriend’s got product to move, awards to shoot for and a whole lot of poledancing to do, which means outfits must be catalogued and discussed. Welcome to Awards Season, when the same two dozen actresses on the awards track will collectively wear roughly 2 million dresses over the next several months in order to secure a permanent addition to both their Wikipedia entry and their obituary: a major industry trophy. Submit to it, darlings. And to its sister posts, such as The Daily Emma Stone or The Daily Amy Adams. Settle in and get used to their faces, because they’ll be getting up in yours until March.
Anyway, here she is, ditching the Audrey drag of the last few days and opting for modern sexy. It’s cute enough, but we have quibbles. First, the shoes are not great. Ankle straps are big right now, but that hem’s too low for them. And this was calling out for a gold metallic shoe to dress – and sex – it up. The sensible, businesslike color of those things is all wrong for a lipstick red dress showing that much skin. About that last part: we like that the front is demure and the back is all walking-away drama, but we tend to think it would have worked much better with a gown length skirt. Take that hem to the floor and put her in some gold sandals and this would be flawless.
The hair’s awfully wiggy, though.
