James Norton Simply Cannot Handle the Red Carpet at the Harper’s Bazaar Women of the Year Awards

Posted on November 01, 2016

“Grantchester” and “War and Peace” star James Norton attends the 2016 Harper’s Bazaar Women of the Year Awards at Claridge’s Hotel in London, England.

If they gave out awards for Least Photogenic Attractive Celebrity, he’d be a shoo-in.

It’s actually a little charming.

A reminder of what he can look like when the lighting is right and he’s not self-conscious:

Sorry to get all Tumblr fangurl on you there, but a point needed to be made. The boy just locks up when you ask him to pose for a picture. His eyes go squinty and he purses his lips and winds up sweating his way through it.

It really is kind of cute when you think about it.* It’s the kind of thing Eddie Redmayne tries to be but only comes off insincere in doing so (at least in our not remotely humble opinion).

Also, the cut of the suit is not being very friendly to him and we suspect he’d be better off staying away from plaid suits in red carpet situations. If your response to a wall of photographers is to go sweaty and shifty-eyed, an ill-fitting plaid suit is not helping matters at all, no matter how expensive it is.

*Or maybe he’s just really, really high.
