Emma Stone Brings a Lady Garden with Her to the Governors Awards

Posted on November 14, 2016

We tried, you guys. We really tried to like this dress, but once again, the fashion world’s need to force its whimsy all over us has us a bit exhausted. Pity the poor fashion bloggers.

But seriously, this is a bit much, no?

Isn’t a metallic jacquard enough for one dress? Did we need a creeping embroidered lady garden or crystal embellished straps to go with it? AND a huge ruffle on the skirt? Like so many of these overdesigned whimsical dresses, we can’t help thinking if you stripped away 95 of the design elements, you’d have a chic and stylish dress. This is more of a manic collection of ideas mashed together.

And the shoes don’t go. Not the style, anyway.
