“Queen of Katwe” stars David Oyelowo and Lupita Nyong’o attend the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ 8th annual Governors Awards held at The Ray Dolby Ballroom at the Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood, California.
It’s Monday, darlings. Allow us to gently easy your way into your week with the equivalent of a Fashion Hug. Miss Lupita and Mr. David are doing their jobs of being pleasant, pretty distractions for us all and the least we could do in response is take it all in and appreciate the effort.
Now let’s see what they got wrong.
Turns out? Nothing! Sort of.
We’d have advised an inch taken off the hem of those pants and a liner under that skirt, but these aren’t dealbreakers. He looks fabulous in that suit and she looks gorgeous in that dress. We didn’t think there was a color on the spectrum that Lupita couldn’t work to the hilt, but we have to say, this mint green, while it looks nice enough on her, isn’t one of her top ten colors.
Love his shoes. We go back and forth on hers. Gold sandals make sense, and we’re happy to not see her in another pair of bridesmaid pumps, but these aren’t really setting us on fire.
