Miss Elle served up a refreshingly chic bit of street style over the weekend by playing up her talent for wearing black. Unfortunately, with the dawn of a new week, she’s back to her pastels addiction.

To be fair, she has the right coloring for pastels. It’s just that somewhat washed-out and unflattering pastels tend to be the default choice for her. This one isn’t bad. It’s got a little flush of color to it that works well with her own coloring and the shape has a sweetly vintage vibe to it. Weirdly, the neckline looks like something Bob Mackie would’ve designed for Cher in the ’70s.

This would be a perfect example of the kinds of ugly, washed-out pastels she tends to favor. No matter what other charms the ensemble may have, it looks terrible on her because that’s simply not a good color for her. Don’t even get us started on the horror show makeup job.
We’re not convinced on the top, but that skirt definitely has some appeal to it. On the right wearer, paired with items that can play down its over-the-top sweetness, we could see it working. It’s one of the more conventional garments we’ve seen from the Rodarte team in a while.
