Emma Stone is unbalanced at the Mark Twain Prize event honoring Bill Murray

Emma Stone at the 2016 Mark Twain Prize Event Honoring Bill Murray in Washington, DC.

Well, it’s not an event centered around her or any of her projects, so a low-key look is perfectly on the mark for the occasion. But something about this dress feels a little off, no?

It’s like the skirt is so visually (and possibly even literally) heavy that the somewhat flimsy and underdesigned top half doesn’t really work with it somehow. It’s the neckline. Comes off too sporty for such a blingy dress and it leaves her with somewhat blah straps spaced too far apart on her. Plus the way the embellishments are placed are kind of awkward and distracting. The whole thing’s a weird and unlikely combination of underdesigned with distracting embellishments. And we’re not sure the color works for her at all, although that could come down to the crap lighting in these shots.

Is it us or is she coming on strong in her brow game all of a sudden?
