Welcome back to our “Translating the Trends” series, where we read the runway tea leaves (so to speak) and put Lorenzo to work as your very own personal shopper to pick out real world items that’ll help you stay stylishly fresh (so to speak) without asking you to overhaul your entire wardrobe. Be sure to read the whole series for some great ideas (if we do say so) and great sales.

Once again, we’ll point out that most consumer-based style trends tend to be something the public has shown an interest in spending money on before. No one’s stepping out on a limb when they suggest that the period from October to March tends to be heavy with metallic styles and accents. If nothing else, they tend to explode every holiday season. But like the fall ’16 trend for florals, the metallics for this upcoming season are running the gamut from the traditionally autumnal to some very off-season metallic pastels like pinks and lavenders. As we said before, the rules for fashion right now are, there are no rules.

But when you set Lorenzo free on a mission to find you stylish metallics, that man is not going to fool around. Brace yourselves for an avalanche of metal.

First floor: BAGS:

REALLY feeling that glittery green Kate Spade bag, which is fairly affordable and also comes in an on-trend pink. It’s a super-cute bag. Also: the Betsey Johnson star-studded bags are ridiculously fab-cute and even more affordable than the Kate Spade. And that Nine West silver tote is straight-up cheap, but looks decidedly otherwise. Even cheaper: the pink-gold quilted Betsey Johnson. There are somewhat less reasonably priced options among the above, and they’re pretty much across-the-board fabulous, especially the Michael Kors bags.

Next floor: SHOES:

Remember to breathe.

The ROMWE silver, thick-heeled pumps with the faux buckle are extremely of-the-moment trendy. This is the direction women’s shoes are going for the foreseeable future. Same goes for the TopShop three-strapper with the low heel. It’s got a retro 1920s feel to it. But hey, if a gal wants to get her cha cha heels on, we’re not gonna be the queens to talk her out of it. Can’t go wrong with the Nina sandal, or the Via Spiga, or the Top Shop ankle strap. And if a lady’s got a lot of holiday parties to go to, a metallic pump can be an easy go-to to make any old getup look party-ready. Nine West has got you covered nicely. And as always, we tend to find the lower-heeled options some of the most fun and stylish. There isn’t a ballet flat up there that doesn’t look like a great find to us, but once again, Miss Betsey Johnson’s got a killer shoe for practically nothing.

Next floor: RANDOM ACCESSORIES

Those DVF gloves are TDF. But if they’re a skosh too rich for your blood, the teal Wild at Heart gloves with the gold accents are sassy and stylish. The black leather Portolano gloves with the gold studs are chic and badass at the same time. The gold braided Ralph Lauren belt is a fun and cheap way to sparkle up a look, but if we had to pick, we think the Cole Haan belt is the dressier option. Bauble Bar continues to be a great place for trendy, fresh jewelry that isn’t frighteningly expensive. Lorenzo outdid himself on all the jewelry options, but the BB stuff feels the most modern. And the Betsey Johnson pieces, as always, are the most fun.

What bit o’ glitter is catching your eye here, darlings?
