Bill and Cathy Cambridge Invade Canada Stylishly

Posted on September 26, 2016

Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, Prince George of Cambridge and Princess Charlotte of Cambridge arrive at Victoria International Airport in Victoria, Canada.

Bill, Cathy and the whole Cambridge Clan put on their Sunday best just to make sure Justin Trudeau didn’t out-cute them.

He was no match for George’s royal knee socks.

Actual T Lo conversation for you to mull over:

Lo: She is so Diana here.

T: Really? Diana was rarely this restrained. If anything, she’s Elizabeth, in the 1950s. She so wants the same royal career arc as Grandma Betty’s. You can bet she’ll be tying scarves around her head and breeding Corgis in about ten years.

Lo: Maybe the dress is Elizabeth, but not the hat. That’s Diana.

T: Diana’s hat would be about ten times that size, polka-dotted and have fake grapes hanging off it.

Lo: I dare you to admit you said that in the post.

T: I’m not scared.

This did not engender a bitchy debate between us. We’re mostly in agreement that it works really great for her and that it’s lovely to see her in a patterned look and NOT in blue. Although red is pretty much her other default color. Basically, she dresses like the Union Jack.

Of course she’d pick fire-engine red pumps and clutch as the accessories here. Practically any other choice would have been more interesting.

Bill looks like her bodyguard in these shots. His deplaning suit was nice. This is dull.
