Believe it or not, we were almost convinced on this one.

The denim jacket/prairie dress/boots look is a classic. The problem with this iteration is two-fold. First, it’s way too label-driven, which is forcing the inclusion of accessories that do nothing for the outfit and possibly even clash with it. Those boots are so wrong it’s almost painful. Second, because this fashion show costumery, everything is overdesigned and trying way too hard to be quirky. We think we could accept the studded jacket paired with the very ruffled dress, but everything else would have to be so neutral as to be practically invisible. Had she asked us, we’d rather see a more conventional denim jacket so she’d be free to pick shoes and a bag that can enhance the look, rather than fight with it or fade to the background.
