“The Americans” actress Keri Russell attends the 68th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California.
Miss Keri all but flashed millions of people as she descended onto the stage to present an award, but we suppose with a dress like this one, that’s a feature, not a bug.
We mean, isn’t the whole point of this design to get your eye to go straight to her crotch? The bodice offers you almost nothing to look at. From the front, it’s just this weirdly stiff sack with a rolled edge. Pair that with a skirt so diaphanous it looks like it’s about to float away, and a slit that stops just short of the china cabinet, and … well… where else are your eyes supposed to go? To be fair, her head styling is pretty good, and it’s not like she can’t rest on her own face being the focus of attention, but the dress is way too distracting for that to happen. It’s just an odd and awkward design. It didn’t look good on screen or in photos. We wonder if it has a different effect in person.
