Margot Robbie attends the premiere of “Suicide Squad” at The Beacon Theatre in New York City.
Just look at this magic unicorn, bringing sparkly whimsy to the red carpet:
Better yet, check out the dress she’s wearing.
Oh, Miss Margot. You did not disappoint. It was obvious that you were taking the opportunity of your Harley Quinn portrayal to unleash a little cray-style into the required poledance, so we were really looking forward to what you’d come up with for the first premiere. This is better than we could have imagined. In fact, we’re pretty sure we couldn’t have imagined this at all.
We are, of course, grateful and pleased that the runway version was modified to be more red-carpet appropriate. Because nipples are generally a “no” in a red carpet situation. But really, it’s the sense of fun and adventure that we love so much. Let’s face it: if it was easy or popular to wear a dress like this, you’d see it all the time on the red carpet. Any short perusal of this site will tell you that 9 times out of 10, a celebrity is going to pick very safe, middle-of-the-road attire for any public appearance. But we’ve long asked for more risk-taking on the RC and for celebrities to understand how they can shift their image toward whatever project they’re promoting. This is the best way for her to tip her hat to the nutty character she plays without having it come off like cosplay. In other words, this references the basic themes of the character (a kind of wide-eyed, glitter-bombed, faux-naive psychopathy) without actually dressing like her.
And come on, it’s just plain fierce af.
