San Diego Comic-Con 2016: Zendaya Coleman in Kenzo at the “Spider-Man Homecoming” Panel

Darlings, the stars all descended upon San Diego en masse this weekend, desperate to grab some of that hot nerd cash and attention. Which means we’ve got a LOT of judging ahead of us today.

We’re starting to think the “Stop getting dressed up for Comic-Con” criticism of celebrity fashion is going to have to be abandoned. While plenty of the celeb-attendees kept things on the casual side, just as many of them turned to their stylists and favorite design houses to get them through the weekend.

Personally, we tend to think a look like this is a bit much for a sweaty convention hall, but like we said, the tide seems to be turning away from us on this point. If starlets feel more comfortable facing the public fully done up, who are we to argue? Gives us more to talk about.

And we have to say, it’s a pretty damn fabulous look. If one must wear high fashion dresses at Comic-Con, then at least give us something bold or unusual to look at. This certainly fits the bill. In a red carpet or photocall situation, we’d consider those tassles to be way too much, but for standing on stage in front of a crowd of Spider-Man fans, it’s a pretty good choice. She looks distinct and easy to spot from far away, but still chic and pretty. It’s a great look – even if we do think she’d have been better off in jeans and a Spider-Gwen hoodie.
