In fact, as we look over the pictures from this weekend, it’s becoming increasingly obvious to us that this may have been the most stylish San Diego Comic Con ever. And while our hearts go out to those purist nerds who can remember a time not that long ago when “stylish San Diego Comic Con” would have been such an obvious oxymoron that immediate guffaws of laughter would have greeted it, as celeb style bloggers, we’re kinda loving it.

And as we said, we also love this. She’s got a spotty style record but it seems to us she hit the mark exactly this time. It’s a rich color and it has semi-casual vibe that fits the event. It’s simple and bold. It flatters her tremendously. And maybe we’re reading too much into it, but the sash was a nice touch, given that Captain Marvel, the superhero character she’ll be playing in the just-announced film of the same name, has a propensity for sporting waist sashes in her costumes, going back decades.

Also, she looks good as a redhead, although we’re not sure about the makeup situation.
