Melissa McCarthy attends the premiere of Sony Pictures’ “Ghostbusters” held at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, California.
On the one hand, we’re thrilled to see her wearing something that flatters and flaunts her figure rather than something that buries it under 400 yards of fabric (as was her tendency for a very long time.) On the other hand, that lining situation is extremely puzzling.
This being a custom design and all, we have no idea why the lining wasn’t extended to the end of the hem and the end of the sleeves. It’s distracting and slightly mars an otherwise Personal Best red carpet showing from her.
But let’s focus on the good parts, of which there are many. Like we said, it’s wonderful to see her finally gaining an understanding that the best way for her to dress is to highlight her figure rather than trying to camouflage it or obscure it. Personally, we would have recommended a black patent belt and shoes, but that’s a quibble. This is bright, bold and attention-seeking (in a good way), making it one of her best red carpet showings ever.
