This is one of those looks that pushes some of our red carpet happy buttons – Bright! Patterned! Playful! – but slowly winds up pushing all our red carpet unhappy buttons the longer we look at it. Try and guess what our number one critique is going to be as you scroll down.
That is all ENTIRELY too matchy. We don’t care what kind of pushback we get on this, when every aspect of your outfit is obsessively matched to every other, it just looks like you couldn’t dream up a better way to style the garment. It’s the safest, no-brainer approach to styling. It’s one thing if the shoes and bag were either green or black, but to pick wildly patterned green-and-black pieces to pair with your wildly patterned green-and-black dress? Newp.
The shoes are really cute, by the way. They’d look fabulous under an LBD.
Also: the choker needs to be burned and then stomped on to put out the flames after a sufficient amount of time has passed.
We like the dress, by the way. The neckline scoops a little low and broad, but the feathery pot leaves* are a fun motif.
