Famke Janssen is seen walking her dog in New York City.

We’ve gotta hand it to this gal. She’s really perfecting her own distinct version of the sidewalk sashay.

In her case, she manages to look photoshoot-ready in a succession of cute little day dresses without ever looking over-dressed or too precious about it. That’s comes down to the dresses themselves, which tend to be fairly simple and designed to show off her legs, but it also comes down to her almost utilitarian styling uniform of ballet flats, plain black umbrella and Jackie O shades. Pair that with a sturdy bag and an attitudinal pup who always looks like he’s giving her some sass, and it just seems to work. And what’s most interesting to us is that she always seems to be in the middle of real errands, rather than just pretending she is, as if she figures she might as well kill several birds with one stone by getting her picture taken, walking her dog AND picking up lunch, all at the same time. It’s the multi-tasking sidewalk sashay and there’s something purely, hilariously New York about the whole approach.
