Tori Spelling and James Franco at the “Mother, May I Sleep with Danger?” Screening

Posted on June 09, 2016

Tori Spelling and James Franco attend the screening of James Franco’s revamped version of “Mother May I Sleep with Danger?” hosted by Lifetime, Sony Pictures Television and Vulture at the Crosby Street Theater in New York City.

We dub this the most deliciously random celebrity pairing of the year:

We love it. We don’t know why; maybe because there’s such a sense of absurdity underlying this project, but somehow we think better of both of them for their involvement in it. Not that Tori had a lot of room to be turning down offers.

And just as this sequel to a surprisngly long-lived bit of ’90s pop culture ephemera is innately absurd, so too is the idea of Tori Spelling and James Franco on the red carpet together. In other words, we can’t not dive in and offer our judgments.

Never change, girl. Your shoes are tacky and your dress manages to be vaguely sexy from the back and totally unflattering from the front, but we wouldn’t want you any other way. You are perfectly dressed for the occasion.

The affected hipster-ironic remove embodied. Which means he is also perfectly dressed for the occasion.

God help us, but we’re probably going to watch this. And if we’re not drunk when we start, we guarantee we will be by the end.
