Saoirse Ronan attends the 2016 Tony Awards at The Beacon Theatre in New York City.
Sorry, girl. We’re gonna have to give this one a prissy little wrinkled-nose “Newp.”
First, there’s the non-color, which looks, quite frankly, terrible against her own coloring. Second, there’s the fact that the design is so incredibly basic as to be generic (which is not what you want from a design when you’ve already decided color is off the table). Third – and in many ways, most important – the few times Stella tried to do something interesting with this very basic design, she either made it worse (that wide, sporty neckline) or added an element that does nothing for the dress except provide a slight distraction from its overwhelming blandness (that pointless little cutout).
Don’t much like the underplayed hair and makeup either. She’s definitely the gal who can rock a clean face on the red carpet, but when you pair it with such a drab dress she just comes off looking like she’s still in the process of getting ready to go out.
